Sponsorship is always paramount for a national event like BMEX which features a vast array of vendors showcasing the best that Barbados has to offer in terms of local products and services.

Through the years, BMEX has been able to attract and maintain a number of loyal sponsors, and this year the Barbados Public Workers' Co-operative Credit Union Limited (BPWCCUL) has come on board as a new platinum sponsor for BMEX 2013.

The Credit Union’s involvement in BMEX is a demonstration of their commitment to supporting local.  According to BPWCCUL President Glendon  Belle "Credit Unions in Barbados play a very critical role in the development of our nation, being indigenously owned and operated, our surplus stays in Barbados. There is no head office in a foreign country to whom we have to remit profits; our surplus is used to give back to members though various means, which in turn goes back into the economy. The credit union, which has been in operation since 1970, is proud of its indigenous status and the positive change effected in the lives of many Barbadians over the years though easy access to credit and a built-in savings component.”

Commenting on the Credit Union’s involvement this year Clorinda Alleyne, BPWCCUL CEO noted that "There is a strong synergy here and we felt that we needed to support the efforts of BMEX in a significant way. Each year the credit union continues to grow from strength to strength in the face of a turbulent economic environment and this opportunity allows us to further enhance our visibility by way of showcasing our broad product and service range."

Also on Board is long-term sponsor Digicel; a major sponsor of the annual exhibition since opening its door in 2004, Digicel has always had a strong presence at BMEX’s four-day event.
Alex Tasker, Commercial Director of Digicel (Barbados) Limited, pointed to the unique opportunity that BMEX provides companies in Barbados: The Barbados Manufacturers’ Exhibition (BMEX) is without a doubt one of the key events on Digicel’s promotional landscape each year.

“As a leader in the field of telecommunications, Digicel views the exhibition as a chance to further showcase its wide range of best-in-class products and services, taking advantage of the opportunity to directly interface with the thousands of individuals who visit the island’s largest commercial exhibition.

“Without a doubt, BMEX provides the platform for Digicel to introduce new products and services to existing and potential customers, in addition to giving the latter the opportunity to seek clarity on items which they may be interested in.

“However, for Digicel our involvement in BMEX goes way beyond promoting what we as a company have to offer. As a company which is committed to assisting with Barbados’ development, we see our support of this exhibition as part of our efforts to assist with the growth and development of business, particularly at the medium, small and micro levels. At no other point throughout the year will these companies have the chance to interface with so many potential customers within such a short period of time. BMEX has definitely provided a wonderful opportunity for Barbados’ commercial entities, regardless of size, to showcase what they have to offer and we are happy to lend our support each and every year.”

BMEX 2013 has strong sponsorship backing and other partners include the Barbados Investment & Development Corporation (BIDC), Scotia Bank, the City of Bridgetown Cooperative Credit Union, the Caribbean Broadcasting Corporation, Republic Bank, LIAT, Acute Vision, Barbados Today, and Starcom Network.  BMEX 2013 is indeed An
