Genuine Leather...Real Style - Caribbean Craft Creations - Friday, May 7, 2010

Barbadians have a strong sense of style and whether its that formal occasion or just an evening out on the town, as the popular Bajan saying goes “We like to look Good”.

No wardrobe complete without well designed accessories to complement; and there is nothing that does the trick better than fine, exquisite leather trimmings all handcrafted right here in Barbados. That’s the mark of Caribbean Craft Creations (CCC), a local leather craft and accessories store.

Caribbean Craft Creations designs and creates original pieces in the finest genuine leather sourced regionally and internationally. Every piece is individually handcrafted by experienced artisans from shoes and bags to wallets, belts, briefcases, pouches and so much more; Caribbean Craft Creations has it all. Come and feast your eyes on their finest and treat yourself to the best at BMEX 2010, May 22nd to 24th. Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre.

Starting in the early 1990s, owner Ronald Thomas has moved from walking the street and selling his products, to showcasing them at trade shows like BMEX, to running two well patronized locations on the West and South Coasts and a workshop in the City.

What started out as a hobby; through hard work, dedication and a vision of what was possible, has developed into a fine classic line of leather accessories. The real secret to the success of this business however, has been a passion for leather craft, a focus on high quality, a good sense of style and a commitment to delivering comfort.

This company has always had a vision of exporting to other markets and this continues to be a mission in progress. While there are no shipments of product being delivered regionally or internationally as yet, Caribbean Craft Creations has found a niche market within the local tourism sector. Not only have they been able to keep their overseas customers coming back for more but they have also been able to secure a steady stream of clients who confidently refer this business to a wide range of friends and associates in various parts of the world. Therefore, in the truest sense of the word, this company is exporting regionally and internationally and making a real contribution to the foreign exchange earnings of the country. The company also has a loyal local following who expect to see them at events such as BMEX 2010.

More and more entrepreneurs are recognizing the value of market research and consumer feedback and CCC is one such company. According to Mr. Ronald Thomas, owner of the company, customers have indicated they are not only looking for style and high fashion, when it comes to shoes they are also looking for comfort. This is one characteristic which has made CCC quite unique, they have taken this feedback on board, improved their footwear line and added increased cushioning for comfort.

Vision, passion, and a strong customer focus; this is a company destined for great thing. Two things it needs to further facilitate its growth and development are technical assistance to secure much needed equipment and the continued support of local consumers. Let’s stand behind them.

Even in the face of challenging times, their sales continue to be strong, their products are getting even better and their positive outlook on the business is that “the best is yet to come”

Caribbean Craft Creations, a company to watch. Visit them at BMEX 2010. Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre May 22nd – 24th, 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM daily.
