BMEX 2010 - Facts Revealed!
Published on May 6, 2010 by BMEX
When and Where?

Exhibitors are excited, buyers are packing their bags and kids are anxiously awaiting the kick off of BMEX 2010, May 21st – 24th, at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre, Two Mile Hill, St. Michael from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM daily.

What’s new this year at BMEX?

This year’s over-arching theme is Innovate, Design, Manufacture! The manufacturers have been challenged to keep it fresh and exciting and to give patrons a first class show for their money. We have reviewed the BMEX package and have made a number of changes which will enhance both the look and feel of the exhibition. The Pavilions have been re-branded and some relocated in order to create that fresh feel. Each pavilion has been given a Barbadian theme which exhibitors are encouraged to interpret and use in their individual booths and even go as far as creating related products to showcase. The Food Pavilion has been themed ‘Pride of Barbados', the Furniture & Art Pavilion ‘Sugar Cane’ , the Fashion Pavilion ‘Coral Stone’, the Construction Pavilion is entitled ‘Clay’, the Spa Pavilion is ‘Breadfruit’ the Services, Regional & Other Exhibitors ‘Festivals of the Caribbean’ and the Kids Zone - ‘Bajan Folklore’. A true celebration of Barbadian innovation.

Why visit BMEX Again?

This is our national exhibition. BMEX is where we all celebrate the growth, the journey, and the success of local manufacturing and what we have proudly been able to achieve. We need to actively and tangibly support and encourage each other, while at the same time securing world class products for our own consumption and enjoyment. It’s your opportunity to get great bargains and to see what’s the latest in the local construction, furniture, fashion and food industries. BMEX is a major social event, come meet your friends or make new friends, take in the fashion show, enjoy the entertainment, it’s a fun-filled family event with something for everyone.

What does the entertainment look like this year?

Of course there is the very well patronized nightly fashion extravaganza showcasing an impressive line-up of locally based, home-grown designers including Antonio ‘Posh Punk’ Cumberbatch who returns from Italy to launch his new line. On Saturday night try to keep pace with the latest dance moves by talented dancers from within our communities; and on Sunday night the ‘General’, Edwin Yearwood will do things his way. Also, stop by on Monday night for John Walcott and Friends as they present an evening of comedy

How much does it cost?

A world class show at an affordable price. Admission for adults is $12.00 and for children it’s $5.00. See you there.
