BEAT|one - The Search Winners to perform Saturday June 11 at BMEX 2011

Shenise Marshall, Curl Joseph, Leanne HumphreyLEANNE VANESSA HUMPHREY, Winner of BEAT|one - The Search also known as, “Vanessa Lee”, is an aspiring Barbadian performing artist whose ultimate goal is to become an internationally known actress and recording artist.

Her performances include the Barbados Music Awards, The National Housing Corporation Annual Concert and the Big and Beautiful Girls Pageant and was also a featured artiste at the Bump N’ Wine Cafe.
 
Vanessa Lee is a holistically and classically trained singer. She earned a Merit in Grade 2 and a Distinction in Grade 4 of The Associated Board of The Royal Schools of Music Classical Singing Examinations and a distinction in Grade 4 of the Theory of Music Examination.

Inspired by artists such as Bob Marley, Billie Holiday and Amy Winehouse, Vanessa Lee pens and records original songs. She has released an original reggae pop single entitled “First Sight” produced by Randy Eastmond of Quantum Studios.

Leanne Vanessa has honed her acting skills at the Barbados Community College where she is pursuing an Associate’s Degree in Theatre Arts. Vanessa has performed in a variety of theatrical performances, ranging from the comedic “End Game” by Samuel Beckett directed by Yvonne Weekes to the tragic, “Looking Back at Sodom”, written and directed by Winston Farrell.

Vanessa Lee’s progress, determination and willingness to learn from more experienced artists, ensures that she will make her mark on the entertainment industry.

CURL JOSEPH is an outstanding vocal talent who amazed the judges at her 1st audition at BEAT|studio and sang her way right to the Top 5 finalists of BEAT|one - The Search. Singing from the tender age of 8, Curl’s career began with gifted performances in the gospel arena, she then “wowed” multitudes of karaoke fans around the island which led to her victory as winner of the 2010 CBC “Karry Ya’ Own Key” competition.

This talented mother of 4 stood out amongst 63 other Barbadian females with her sweet spirit and powerful yet soulful vocal ability. Curl Joseph is a power house of vocal talent and is destined to make her mark in the music industry.

At age 14 SHENISE MARSHALL discovered a new love…singing. Since then, her mother and biggest supporter, Andrea Rollins didn’t hesitate to find outlets to showcase her talent. SHENISE was the youngest, yet a fierce contender in the Richard Stoute Teen Talent competition winning her preliminary and placing 6th overall. This very determined mother and daughter team didn’t
stop there. SHENISE entered “The Spirit of The Nation” and BEAT|one - The Search competitions showing immense natural talent and confidence in her vocal and performance skills and emerged as 1 of the 2 winners of BEAT|one - The Search.

SHENISE is continuously requested to perform at private functions, weddings and concerts across the island.
