YES! YES! YES!  That will be the response from patrons at BMEX 2010 when they experience the variety, quality and creativity on display from the members of the Youth Entrepreneurship Scheme (YES). Companies like Nine One Designs demonstrate that right here at home we have young businesses which are focused, have great vision and are determined to succeed. At Nine One Designs a strong blend of culture and design in the form of Jewelry, Shells, Pearls, Copper, Crystals, Precious and Semi-precious gem stones - with a hint of silver and 14kt gold - comes alive through creativity and design from the husband and wife team of Craig and Leandra Springer.

Also showcasing under the  umbrella  of the Youth Entrepreneurship Scheme is Williams Legacy, a family based business passed down through three generations This creative talent started with simple drawings and embroidery and then moved on to basketry and later wooden beads. Today this business focuses mainly on the production of Mahogany boxes and carvings.  These boxes are made from locally grown Swietenia mahogoni, known to the region as West Indian Mahogany. Employing sustainable management practices only materials and trimmings from pruning and fallen trees are used in the elaboration of these wonderful pieces. The company is also well known for joinery and cabinetry for kitchens, bedrooms and offices. They also produce lamps, plant stands and wooden utensils.  Williams, an environmentally friendly legacy
If you need some light in your life then be sure to also check out 3D Lighting Solutions Inc., a family owned lamp & shades business which manufactures exquisite lamps and lampshades with traditional and contemporary designs in mind.  Made from exotic woods, their lamps can be customized to meet customer specifications and are uniquely crafted to be durable. Their lampshades are made entirely in-house and promise to be inexpensively priced.  The types of material employed in producing the shades are varied and include paper, silk and other fabric blends that are heat resistant; these are sourced both locally and internationally.
Few can boast of being the first to develop anything, but that is C & A Taylor Grease Traps’ claim to fame. Established 12 years ago the company is credited as designer and manufacturer of the first pre-cast grease trap in Barbados. Today the grease traps have been used in many construction projects and the company has added pre-cast manholes to their range of products.

So, as you take in the sights, sounds and smells of BMEX 2010 also keep an eye out for The Cupcake Factory – the cupcake gurus, Regal Shell Inc – specialist in shell work and decorative wall hangings; Greaves Works – the metal works people, and Scented Works, a small but growing business which produces candles and potpourri for both domestic and commercial use. Scented Works has a number of Collections which include The Spice is Nice Collection, A Floral Collection, The Island Vibes Collection and Aromatherapy.

Jewellery, furniture, lighting, construction and so much more…. YES its all at BMEX 2010, being held at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre, May 22nd to 24th.  10:00 AM to 10:00 PM daily.
